PHENOMENON OF VOCAL ART
Attention, BAROQUO « Tribute to Castrati » is a rare concert !

A real journey through time, it will allow you to discover the enigmatic and fascinating universe of Castrati, and the repertoire of these sublime "voices of angels".
At the service of great Italian princes and European courts, Castrati participated with their exceptional tessitura in the development of the vocal theatre and the advent of the Florentine and then Venetian opera. True symbols of purity and musical aesthetics of the bel canto, they have always exerted an almost mystical fascination on their audiences.
The recital of the counter-tenor soprano Mathieu Salama is dedicated to the great composers of baroque music.
Accompanied by musicians playing ancient instruments - harpsichord and viola of gamba -, Mathieu Salama will take you through Italy, Germany and England in the 17th and 18th centuries.

A heady bouquet, magnified by its incomparable timbre and musicality, which highlights the works of Bach, Vivaldi, Handel, Caccini, Monteverdi, Purcell... revealing them in their original instrumental adornment. The alchemy between the viola of gamba, the harpsichord and the human voice, with sounds so similar, is a unique musical experience.
